The Dark History of Prostitution

King Alphonse of the Knights who ruled the kingdoms of Leon and Galicia, now parts of modern-day Spain and Portugal, implemented a variety of sex rules in the 1200s. In much of Europe during this time, there is now mixed attitude towards prostitution. Sex outside of marriage was still a Christian sin, very naughty, got hated. A cultural pushback against this ignorance of the dark ages begins with the Renaissance kicking off in Italy in the 14th century.
