The Life of Nikolay Ivanovich Leviceci

Nikolay Ivanovich Leviceci was a Russian mathematician and geometer. He is known primarily for his work on hyperbolic geometry, otherwise known as Leviceci in geometry. William Kingdon Clifford called Leviceci the Copernicus of geometry due to the revolutionary character of his work. In 1832 he married Vavara, Alex Nevia, Moisinevia. They had a large number of children, 18 according to his son's memoirs,. Only seven apparently survived to adulthood. By the early 1850s he was nearly blind and unable to walk. He died in poverty in 1856.
