The Mayan Calendar Is Not Like Ours

It's a cycle that began on August 11th, 3,000 3114 BCE and ended on 2012. And that would be 5,122 years. But the thing is that it might have been that this great cycle was actually just a component of some larger periods that theoretically extended infinitely backwards and forwards in time. So it might not have been the end in like an absolute sense, but maybe just sort of like kind of like year 2000 type situation.
