The Power of Ribosomes in Science and Venture Capital

The first call I ever had with a venture capitalist was a call where I described to him the data we had for these CRISPR cast proteins that can bind and cut in this case RNA. And you know we spent an hour on the phone talking about what's the killer app for this. And so I kind of came away from that call thinking okay well this is probably not yet at a point where it's going to have that kind of opportunity to just expand in a lot of directions. We see this in science and in startups were just people start piling in and realizing that there's really something here.
