The Story of Alvin Gottlieb and the Star-Spangled Banner
David Gottlieb used to drive around rural Texas with a film projector. He would play the Star-Spangled Banner at the end of every movie he showed. The audience would cheer, and people outside would hear all of these cheers right before the movie house emptied. This was in the early 20s when movies were still mostly silent.
