The Glory of Israel Comes Up to Adullum
The glory of israel finally comes up to adallum. Adullum was a fortified location, a place where people would retreat when they were under attack. David and his men hid in the cave of adullum when he was fleeing from king saul. The reference to the exile here is probably not to the exile in babylon, but probably to the captivity of many judahites under senechareb. Those remaining in judah an jerusalem would be in the situation of mourners.
