Ben-Hadad's Response to the Israelites

Ahab Ben-Hadad, the king of Syria, was defeated by Israel in a battle. The prophet told Ahab to strengthen himself because he would come up against him again this spring. God had promised through that prophet to Ahab that they would be successful. And why do they win? It's always, of course, because God has given them the success.
