I think, being fully staffed doesn't mean you catch every threat, but being understaff guarantees you will miss some. You've got huge man power at the state department and hundreds of people working on these confirmations. This is not serving the national interests. Do they really need to confirm the assistant secretaries of state for different regions and just hold up the process of getting people in there for months? And by the way, like, congress has abused this authority, so they should lose it.
