How Did You Get a Near Native Accent in Japanese?

For me I had a decent intuition for what the language was supposed to sound like because my ears got trained gradually over time they're doing all this mass listening. It's extremely rare for a foreigner learning Japanese to pick up pitch accent without doing some kind of direct work to study it directly. A lot of Chinese people who learn Japanese will acquire pitch accent to a pretty high level but much more than Westerners do so I think this has to do with biases that we have from our native language.
