When Sabrina isn't writing books, they're a staff writer at Defector where they report on creatures. When I first tried to sell the book, I really felt tied to the idea of calling it an essay collection. And I wanted each piece, chapter essay, whatever in the book to sort of just have these two snippets from my life and snippets of the life of a sea creature.
