Even people who teach others to overcome their blind spots have blind spots of their own. Christine talked earlier about the educator, an coach, marshall goldsmith. He was a pioneer in what's called 360 degree feedback. It's a structural system some leaders have used to solicit the opinions of a wide range of colleagues and subordinates.

But behavioral scientist Christine Porath says there are ways to shield ourselves from the toxic effects of incivility.
