What Does the Soviet Automobile Mean in the Soviet Story?
Lewis: A lot of these like, especially a lot of labor books or people who are like, talk about Soviet labor, they never really mentioned the also the like luxury that came with it. You know, there is this kind of image sometimes of the Soviet Union as being short on goods or people starving. And so I guess my question is, you know, as somebody who studied the production of the Soviet automobile and what its effect on Soviet society was,. What does the Soviet automobile mean in the Soviet story? And how did it affect Soviet society? Lewis: How do you view its place in the development of a more consumption oriented, kind of mature, socialism?
