The Importance of Relevance

Heidegger: We cannot help but be affected by things as if we were immersed in a sort of bubble of meaningfulness. The metaphor of the atmosphere should success not only the image of a global container but also that of a rhythm of breathing and of a light refraction. It's doing relevance realization, it's refracting the light, structuring the intelligibility to which a living being must attune or adjust herself. That primordial ground makes all the distinctions between the inner and the outer possible for us.
