I think that what we experience is the result of getting rid of prediction errors. There will be prediction errors, but they're not experienced. So if I'm fairly confident of my predictions, as my brain was in the case of the hollow mask illusion, for example, it's very confident of those predictions. And then I end up with actually a false visual experience as a result.
