There are such textual problems with the sonnets, it's hard to know how to deal with them. It is interesting that in those days, to become famous and respectable, you had to write poetry. And sh Shakespeare seems to have wanted younow play writing was his day job,. Like waiting tables and hollywood, waiting for your big break. He became very famous for writing plays. But he gave up his hope of being a poet instead of being a playwright.
