The Importance of Having a Break in Parliament
It feels like it's grown up this idea that government only exists when parliament is sitting. And as Hillary and Dominic have been saying, it's continuing through the summer months - albeit not necessarily at the same tempo. But similarly, I mean, recess doesn't mean that parliament just shuts up shop. The summer recess does give them a chance for summer tours and so forth. For the public to see bits of the parliamentary state, they could otherwise see but work still continues.
