Is There a Good Way to Measure Unemployment?

The unemployed are people without jobs who were available to take a job and are actively looking for one. The problem is that there's not a good way to measure how many people are in this sort of situation. What we can more easily measures if you're working past time and you'd really prefer to work full time, but there aren't any full time jobs that you can find. And even if they're not technically unemployed, we still care about the at the start of the episode, president byden equated joblessness with hopelessness.
