Line Item Vetos Are No Longer a Thing

line item vetos are a type of veto in which the executive can get rid part of a bill. Although congress approved the line item veto, it was struck down by the supreme court in 19 98. So what happens now with these big bills? Do they have to live or die as they are? Yes and yes. These so called omnibus bills with myriad items have become more and more prevalent. And with them has grown this kind of politicing between the white house and congress that seems to just be making these bills bigger and bigger.
