i think of it in terms of, you know, our genes are influenceing very basic aspects of our am our temperaments. And then with these embodied characteristics, we are then put into a social situation where we're faced with repeated choices. So i think in the case of politics, there's probably a genetic influences on your disgust tolerance or your preferences for novelty. I mean, there can't be a jean for these kinds of specific things.

Michael speaks with University of Texas (Austin) professor of clinical psychology and Director of the Developmental Behavior Genetics Lab, Kathryn Paige Harden, about her book, The Genetic Lottery.
