The 14th Amendment and the Platinum Coin

No sensible country has a debt ceiling. There's another law which allows the government to mint platinum coins in any denomination they like. For reasons I don't entirely understand, there was more buzz around platinum coins last time and there's a bit more buzz around the 14th Amendment this time. But that doesn't really solve the problem. All that does is it just pushes it down the road a little bit.
