The Love Affair With China
I began looking at China directly after Nixon and Kissinger changed the view that the America view at that time was very highly negative. They viewed them as a communist nation, which they were. However, communism, I kind of knew was not one item. That's the background by which I invited the Lishanyan, the president of China, who came in 1985. And since that time, I have spent at least one visit a year in the last few years. It's been more about three visits here, which is hard for me but fortunately, I'm only 39 years old. So it's no problem at all.
