The Megaherian Decrees

Athens passed a series of decrees in the assembly against mega. The official explanation for the decrees were that it was provoked for three reasons First the megaherians had illegally encroached on a patch of sacred land and killed an Athenian herald to reproach them. Second the megaherans had killed an AthenIAN herald who was sent to their city to reproach they about encroaching on their sacred land. Third the megaherics were harboring fugitive slaves who had fled from Athens. This sacred land called the Hera Orgos was a circular fertile area of land sacred to the Ellucinian goddesses to meter and Persephone.
