At the peak, I was probably training 20, 25 hours a week for a pretty good extended period of time. It's not as bad as an elbow in the face or whatever you're dealing with. You have to basically sacrifice a lot in the pursuit of mastery. When you're trying to do something at a high level, it doesn't matter whether it's a 100 meter sprint or a 100 mile run.
