A common line that is often taken on pragmatism, which I suspect our listeners will be familiar with in some form or another, has it that Charles Pers, William James, and John Dewey. It enjoys some prominence in the early 20th century, particularly for the decades before the Second World War. But one thing that struck me about your book, the American pragmatists, is that you have a whole chapter about Chauncey Wright,. who was a contemporary of person James and a member of the metaphysical club - this informal gathering of folks around Cambridge where these core ideas were first proposed and developed.
