The Effect of Positive Reinforcement on Performance

Sports skills and tactics class talked about positive reinforcement immediately after a skill was performed to help with the number of errors that were committed. They showed that when people were told you know something like good job or great job they saw 50% decrease in error rates over time. Do you know if there's any other line of evidence that supports people being positively reinforced or verbally reinforced immediately after a Skill is performed? "Yeah it's all really interesting stuff and it's cool that it comes down to preference because again with science we're kind of looking for these hard and fast answers," he says.
