The Habitat Pile Fergus
Fergus has created a 'haystack' in his garden to attract wildlife. He used wood from dead or dying trees, which he had been burning for firewood. Entomologists found an interesting beetle on one of the logs and asked him not to burn it this winter. Fergus then turned that pile into a meadow where hedgehogs can escape badgers. The haystack is about 20 feet high with poles driven into the ground around it.
