The Value of Misdirecting the Public
I think there is value in misdirecting the public through the things you communicate strategically. Like Steve Jobs did, you can basically neutralize your competitive threats for a long time period as this idea filters around throughout the whole business community. I don't necessarily believe that they're doing it maliciously, right? The vast majority of millionaires today weren't working in a factory or working in an African diamond mine when their parents were poor. It's very hard to be a successful founder if your parents are poor, right? There are very, very few examples,. like Oprah, right? It's one great, great example. That's the exception that proves the rule.
