The Importance of Writing

Clerk: Warren did not like to start the process of writing. And so what he would do is he would commission some aid, whether it was his law clerk or somebody else. So I did an awful lot of drafts of speeches and lectures throughout my clerkship. Any work on his memoirs, which were published posthumously, was done by other law clerks after he died. They may have made use of some of my suggestions; they didn't involve me in the process.
