Dr. Varnar: I don't use pelvic ultrasound in all patients in whom I suspect have PID. The CDC guidelines from 2021 recommend either IV-Ceftriaxone 1g Q24H or IM-CeFTriaxone 500 mg for 1 dose depending on the severity of disease, plus Doxycycline 100 mg PO or IV Q12H as a first line.
