The Purpose of Heat in Industrial Applications

About three quarters of the total energy consumed in our economy, which makes stuff is heat, not electricity. Typical cement plant might use 55 megawatts of electricity and 1000 megawatts of heat. When you're making steel, making aluminum, making, you know, across all sorts of things, heat based processes are transformative. If we have fuel to start with, they are by far the cheapest ways of making those commodities as a civilization over since the Industrial Revolution.
