Three years ago, the Indian government launched a project that aimed to make the country the hub of mobile phone manufacturing. The production-linked incentive or PLI scheme is designed to provide incentives on incremental sales of goods manufactured in the sector. So far, it seems to be doing pretty well; Phone exports are expected to almost double in 2023. But why is Macon India attracting more foreign phone makers than Indian ones?
