A Land Value Tax Could Replace a Lot of Taxes
Many Pennsylvania towns tax land values at a higher rate than the tax improvements, without going to zero. Total value of land in the US is something of like $15 trillion. If you really did want to do a sort of big bang, total conceptual overhaul, you could turn a land value tax into the "workhorse tax," he says.
