In the Adam and Eve creation narrative, what we have is the serpent suggesting to Eve and Adam by extension that something is lacking in them. So if God has a need to put the world to rights, the first injustice that occurred wasn't us violating God's good and holy law; it was some kind of doubt, fear, shame, sense of lack of enoughness. And so for God to start bringing the world torights, for God to repair the injustices done, that's a matter of restoring us. That's not a matter of punishing us. But as trauma began to shift some of that understanding,. like really kind of jolted some of these things that were already kicking
