What Would a Real Socialist Government Have Been Like?

Labour's record in government, from a socialist point of view, gives very slim pickings. It did introduce the n h s which is still, however, beleaguered, still with us to day. But it was also a government about a rescuing capitalism. You can take measures that could be a step toward socialism, but also have the effect of propping up the existing system. i think itsr its, socialist virtues are somewhat exaggerated and perhaps looked better in hindsight.
