So they were gtting these tariffs, and their exports had collapsed. Ah, and so that was, that was contributing to this desire to secede. On a relative basis, the southern states never recovered, did they? Yi know, the wealth, the wealth of the south, the great agricultural wealth of the South. And it probably would have done anyway without the war, ya subsidies and the tariffs and everything else.
