Is Cooking OK, but Not Washing the Dishes?
The Pharisees built a fence around the Torah. They added hundreds of rules and regulations or laws about what you could, and more importantly what you could not do on the Sabbath. Jesus is pro-Torah and anti-Mishnah. The word there is better translated as "man" but it's also meant to mean mankind.
