"I'm really interested in finding out how much water can really be produced by this mechanism of potential solar wind interaction or just the stickiness of water being inside minerals as they form," he says. "My feeling is that for us, there's so much water here that we probably have had a lot of interactions with water-rich asteroids and comets within our solar system" He adds: "If we can say, oh well, 50, 60% of Earth's water was actually formed when the planet formed ... then we know that that other planet in another solar system has a star."
