The Effects of a Narcissist's Marriage on Empathy
The theory is that lack of empathy represents an equilibrium, that there's a certain percentage of people in the population that lack empathy. Once you get past a certain number, those that do have empathy start to become more protective,. thereby making it not an advantage to be a non empath and therefore an equilibrium is reached where there's just aCertain percentage of them in the population, but not too many.
