The Importance of Ethical Science
Bishop Barron says empirical science can tell us a lot, but they can't tell us everything. Science is doing fine. It just needs to stay in its lane. But notice that there's something unexplored here between a neurobiology and moral philosophy. There's a whole range of things to study between the composition of ink and paper and literature study of Moby Dick. So according to this view, and it might be one that you brought with you this evening, the soul as such is an immaterial thing. It's spiritual, it's thinking being. We don't need to talk about empirical science to talk about morality or metaphysics or theology.
