The History of Science Is the History of Getting Closer to the Truth

David Papano: I've been articulating the strengths and weaknesses of scientific realism. The view that there is an independent reality and we can't know about it, takes us back to the beginning in a way. And so this of course there's a fact of the matter about what happened in the past,. But the interesting issue here, which is one we were debating, is can we find out about it? It sounds to me as if what you're saying is that the history of science is actually the history of getting closer to the truth.
