Luke gives us this little tease here that Stephen's being stoned to death. He's being executed, but pulled camera back. Verse 58, they cast him out of the city. They stoned him. The witnesses laid down their clothes at a young man's feet,. whose name was Saul. So Luke is setting up the next chapter of the story by showing this person who doesn't participate in the stoning and actually assists the people that are stoning Stephen. Which is amazing. I mean, I'm a natural man. And he's forgiving.
