The Importance of Compensation in Class Actions

A lot of lawyers don't like to not know if they're going to be paid while working on something. This is actually the typical structure in things like class actions, where lawyers generally won't be paid unless they win. And increasingly, I've seen law firms willing to take on like a percentage of the recovery as part of the compensation. It's also super relevant that in most cases, there's only one party that stands to gain financially from the result.
