Cardiac Involvement in Sclarderma

Sclarderma is a connective tissue disorder that's characterized by extra cellular matrix deposition with widespread fibroses of the skin and viceral organs. Approximately 25 % of all sclardermal related deaths are due to cardiac causes. Cardiac involvement can also occur secondary to lung or renal disease, pulmonary arterial hyper tension or other cardio vascular wrist factors. The main cardiac manifestations include arythmias and conduction disorders, pericardi and pericartial effusions, valvular involvement and diastalic disfunction.
