The second law deuteronomy is to help us navigate even these issues. They're told that if you find a dead body somewhere out in the field, for example, but there's no murderer that you can identify, then whatd'll we do with that? Because justice has not been served, and we don't even know how to serve justice. In some ways, we will ritually re enact what happened. We'll commit the murder ourselves. But verse 18, why utter destruction that they teach you not to do, after all their abominations which they have done unto their gods? There are lines we cannot cross.
