The History of the Swedish Reichsbank
Swedish Reichsbank was the first central bank in 1668. It moved from being managed directly by the monarchy towards what you would call the estates general or more or less a type of Swedish parliament. In the early 18th century, it was granted permission to issue what we're called credit notes. This is where you start to see the central bank assuming a role for not just monetary stability, but also providing a currency that other people would use.
