It Was in the Air for Disabled People
In the 19 sixties and early 70s, a group of disabled students at Berkeley began to organize for civil rights. The idea that people with disabilities had civil rights fit right into the revolutionary spirit of the time. "We hung on to each other because we all had this idea about who we were," says Judy Human.
