Transgender People Are Against Essentialism
The official position of transgender people is against essentialism our sexual identities are socially constructed blah blah blah ultimately contingent historical but nonetheless in practical treatment. I think the only solution here is again german idealist one yes we do choose our sex identity but it's not this free choice it's a radical unconscious choice which totally determines your identity.
