Is There a Deep Set of Ideas in Quantum Computing?
If there's not a deep set of ideas, there can't possibly be a field. I like to think of Potemkin Fields, which are when money and interest tries to declare that something is a field, but there's no deep set of idea. This affects interdisciplinary work where maybe you have two fields, both of which are grounded in deep sets of ideas,. But just declaring something to be at the intersection doesn't mean that there's sort of interesting deep ideas to be discovered there.
