What Role Do Indigenous People Play in the Story That You Tell?
Photographs are, of course, about landscapes. They're allsoa showing geographic, or excuse me, geologicl features as well. And part of that was a land that was intentional, wrightthat the photographers here are trying to tell stories about this land that depopulates that land. Yet despite that, all the places that are discussed in the book were inhabited at the time they were taken. So then why were these photographers attempting to show this land, often as a depopulated place? What role do indigenous people play in the story that you tell here? Yes, absolutely.
