Can Shunt Surgery Really Improve Cognitive Function?

The research is predominantly gate based, but clinically do you think the real impact from the shunt is on gate? Do you see much in terms of cognitive improvement? Yes, you do. The evidence from the literature isn't strong on this, but there's a Japanese trial that followed up 400 people after shuntal. And they should really elegantly that after only three months, the gate had improved quite significantly.
